ART BIO

Cindy Rinne has created fine art for over 40 years. She started creating fiber art over 30 years ago. Rinne is an ecofeminist artist creating mixed-media fiber works as process art. These are collages layering fabrics from around the world to tell stories. Cindy works in collaboration with the materials. She gives nature a voice. The narratives told in costume sculptures and wall works. Cindy creates myths for the lineage of women who lived the stories digging deep into a myriad of cultures.

Her artworks have been exhibited at LA Artcore; LAAA/825, LA; the Lancaster Museum of Art and History; RAFFMA, Cal State San Bernardino; and the Torrance Art Museum; Studio C Art Gallery, Claremont, CA; Bunny Gunner Gallery, Claremont, CA; "Old Broads" curated by Karen Karlsson and exhibited in several southern California venues; LAX Terminal One group show; "Parallel Intersections" in Ensenada, Mexico through RCAA; TAQS exhibit in Taiwan; the national juried exhibition, "Like Water on Rock" in Los Angeles, CA . She is represented by Desert Peach Gallery in Yucca Valley, CA.

Cindy Rinne writes in San Bernardino, CA. Represented Poet by Lark Gallery, LA, CA. She was Poet in Residence for the Neutra Institute Gallery and Museum, Los Angeles, CA. A Pushcart nominee. Her poems have appeared in literary journals, anthologies, art exhibits, and dance performances. Cindy is the author of several books: Word Become Ashes: An Offering (Bamboo Dart Press), Today in the Forest with Toti O’Brien (Moonrise Press), silence between drumbeats (Four Feathers Press), Knife Me Split Memories (Cholla Needles Press), Letters Under Rock with Bory Thach, (Elyssar Press), and others.
